The Mic of Dukakis

This was used on the Michael Dukakis Pesidential Campaign. It was given to Freeman by a friend who had worked on the campaign before he got Roved.

Brian Harer testified at trial that the Reporter hid his microphone by wrapping it into his clothing. He also lied that it was “...a small, thin tube microphone, probably about a couple inches long” As you'll see, he's off by a factor of four. He lied that Manzelli harassed him with several flash photo's from about "five feet" away.

A colorful re-enactment of the "crime" is now posted at freemanz.com. The site was ranked around the top one percent of sites worldwide by Alexa.com's trafic ranking. Freemanz.com, which had covered hundreds of issues is slowly regaining traffic by focusing on this story:

Since the Patriot Act, Rogue cops in Massachusetts are abusing the Commonwealth's wiretapping law to conceal their misconduct and prosecute their victims.

1.75 Inches

A $15.00, 2 inch, Griffin Lavalier Mic, Suitable for Concealment

Here's the Superscope EC5 Mr. Manzelli was using when Harer threatened him.

The scuffs and damage appeared, along with cross-threading after it was surrendered by MBTA Police under a court order.
For size comparison, this is a large "Capsule" Style studio microphone.

Generally speaking, only the rare, vacuum tube equipped mics are larger.
This Behringer MX8500 is similar to the legendary Shure SM58, we've all seen used by singers for decades.

Many Reporters use these, sometimes just as a visual prop.
This is what someone who's interested in making a secret recording might carry.

Facts:

Harer as Dukakis in tank

Brian Harer is shown here as Former Massachusetts Governor Mike Dukakis in the process of losing an election. In a miscalculated attempt to counter Republican accusations of being a sissy-boy liberal (also he was pinned for Willie Horton's crimes and the trash floating washing up in Boston Harbour.

Dukakis was running against a former C.I.A. Director with family ties to the Third Reich, a man who would become the progenitor of an American dynasty.

In behaviour typically of Democrats, he failed to reframe the debate and tried to "toughen" his image with this photo which backfired, and he lost.

Q and A with the Reporter

Did you conceal your microphone from Harer?

Absolutely not. I held it by it's base, in my left hand. My Canon F-1(n) (with motor drive and 24mm. lense) was in my right hand, and my AT-1 (fitted with a long lense) was over my left shoulder. I was bedecked with large heavy equipment from head to toe. Wires hung from my bag. Hardly a 'secret'.

If the mic were stuffed under your clothes, the sound would be muffled. So, why don't you just let us hear the tape? What are you hiding?

With the incorrect 'finding of fact' of this trial, I am legally prohibited even from disclosing the contents of the recording, if it exists. BREAKTHROUGH! The website conte2006.com has made a breakthrough on this front, publishing a recording of State Police making a warrantless search of a citizens home! Every recording documenting alleged police miscondictin Massachusetts prompts a wiretap charge! See what conte2006.com did about this!
So what did you do to draw Harer's attention?
